Breasts reduced by 2 lbs per side in this short scar breast reduction
This 24 year old woman underwent breast reduction in which approximately two pounds of tissue was removed from each breast.
In this individual’s case, the incisions used to perform the breast reduction were of the “lollipop” or short scar type. This method of breast reduction avoids any incisions in the cleavage and in most instances along the lower fold of the breast.
Breast tissue, especially in young women, can be extremely dense and therefore heavy. Breast reduction can alleviate neck, shoulder and upper back pain and a variety of other symptoms that directly result from heavy breasts.
BEFORE PHOTOGRAPH: This is a frontal view of a 24 year old woman in whom approximately 2 pounds of tissue was removed from each breast during breast reduction surgery. Removal of such a significant weight of tissue from the front of the chest can have profoundly positive effects on a woman's back pain, posture and self confidence. Quite visible in this photograph are the "shoulder grooves" from tight bra straps that many women with large breasts have. Tight bra straps can cause a woman severe pain in a number of ways.
AFTER PHOTOGRAPH: This is a right profile view of a 24 year old woman in whom approximately 2 pounds of tissue was removed from each breast during breast reduction surgery. It's notable in this photograph that this woman is standing up much straighter after 4 pounds of weight has been removed from the front of her chest. Better posture typically leads to less back pain and also has very positive effects on the way a woman's body is perceived.
